Chirag Paswan Endorses Mohan Bhagwat’s Warnings About Dwindling Fertility Rates

New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) Union Minister Chirag Paswan has expressed his support for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent comments regarding the alarming decline in fertility rates. Bhagwat underscored the significance of achieving a population growth rate exceeding 2.1 to ensure the survival of society, a point that Paswan deemed a technical concern that requires thorough examination.

In addressing the matter, Chirag Paswan remarked, “The concern raised by Mohan Bhagwat ji is indeed valid. We are witnessing a marked decline in the fertility rate. Ideally, it should hover around 2.1, but the current trend is downward. This poses a potential threat to humanity and societal stability. A broader conversation on this topic is essential.”

The Union Minister stressed that the fertility rate is a vital metric for the survival of any species or community, highlighting the need for timely intervention. “This issue transcends specific communities; it impacts all of us. We must ensure that no species or society faces existential threats due to diminishing fertility rates,” he added.

Earlier on Sunday, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat made a compelling argument for sustaining a growth rate of 2.1, asserting that this is crucial for the survival of any society.

Bhagwat also expressed concerns about the declining population figures and cited instances of languages and societies that have disappeared as they failed to adapt over time.

“The population should not drop below a fertility rate of 2.1. Our country's population policy was established between 1998 and 2002. The population of any society must be maintained above 2.1,” Bhagwat noted.

Additionally, while criticizing Tejashwi Yadav’s political campaign, Chirag Paswan stated, “The distinction between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav is evident. Nitish Kumar remains engaged with the public even while in power. His doors are always open to the public.”

In contrast, the Union Minister accused Tejashwi Yadav of only reconnecting with the public during his time in opposition. “When in power, Tejashwi Yadav's doors remain closed. Had he maintained a relationship with the people while in office, he wouldn't find it necessary to embark on such extensive yatras now,” he commented.
