Patna, May 19 (NationPress) Union Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has expressed strong disapproval of the Trinamool Congress for opting out of an all-party delegation focused on terrorism, calling for a united political front on international stages.
"There should be no politics on such critical issues. When representing our nation abroad, personal disputes and controversies must be set aside. Such behavior does not serve our national interests," Paswan remarked.
He underscored that political disagreements should not obstruct matters relating to national security and international diplomacy.
This statement followed the Trinamool Congress (TMC) formally withdrawing from an all-party delegation aimed at raising awareness about terrorism backed by Pakistan. The party notified the Centre that neither Yusuf Pathan, a Trinamool MP, nor any other representative would partake in the international endeavor.
This decision has sparked reactions within political circles, with numerous NDA leaders denouncing the move.
Reports indicate that Yusuf Pathan has communicated to the Central government his unavailability to represent the nation during the international tour.
In the meantime, BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal suggested that the choice to withdraw Yusuf Pathan stemmed from political insecurity within the Trinamool.
"Yusuf is a renowned international cricketer. Mamata Banerjee tends to feel uneasy when others gain notoriety, which is why Yusuf Pathan's name was removed," he asserted.
Jaiswal also commented on India's recent prohibition on importing plastic and ready-made garments from Bangladesh, endorsing it as a move toward achieving trade equality.
"If you are imposing taxes on India, you must adhere to the same tax obligations here. The ban is warranted," he stated.
Jaiswal further emphasized the developmental initiatives in Bihar under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming that the NDA’s increasing popularity is a result of effective governance.
