New Delhi, May 19 (NationPress) The BJP has reacted strongly to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party's choice to withdraw from the government’s all-party delegations set to travel abroad for diplomatic efforts aimed at clarifying India's stance on cross-border issues.
The delegation is intended to visit various countries to assert India’s diplomatic and military strength, reveal Pakistan’s involvement in promoting cross-border terrorism, and commend the courage of the Indian armed forces.
However, the Trinamool Congress has chosen not to participate, having allegedly informed the Centre that MP Yusuf Pathan, who was chosen to represent the party, or any other MPs from the party, would not take part in the mission.
In a strong response, BJP National Spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain remarked, “What is happening with Mamata Banerjee? Whom is she trying to appease? All 1.4 billion citizens of this nation stand in support of our country and the bravery of our armed forces. The valor shown by our forces during Operation Sindoor is being acknowledged globally. Yet, the TMC has raised objections. Every patriot will consider Mamata Banerjee’s stance to be unfortunate and disappointing.”
Hussain further condemned Pakistan’s actions during the recent hostilities, asserting, “Pakistan has conducted entirely disgraceful actions. They deliberately targeted religious sites. Fortunately, their attempts were thwarted by our air defense systems. Pakistan is a rogue state. The only ideology they seem to adhere to is terrorism, masquerading under the guise of Islam.”
Former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also criticized the TMC's decision, stating, “Some individuals aim to distort India’s narrative of victory. Today, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the entire nation honors the bravery of our armed forces. Under PM Modi’s leadership, India stands united. While India is celebrating a 'Shaurya Yatra' under the Tricolor, Pakistan is preoccupied with showcasing its terrorists.”
Operation Sindoor was initiated in retaliation for the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives.
The all-party MP delegations will work on diplomatic initiatives and global outreach against terrorism, emphasizing India’s firm stance on terrorism at an international level across various nations.
