New Delhi, June 2 (NationPress) BJP's national general secretary Tarun Chugh has vehemently criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her remarks regarding ‘Operation Sindoor’. He accused her of prioritizing the welfare of Pakistani terrorists over the innocent lives lost in Pahalgam. Chugh contended that she is exploiting India's anti-terror military operation for her own political agenda.
Chugh stated that Banerjee’s opposition to Operation Sindoor reveals her greater concern for Pakistani terrorists than for the unarmed Indians who tragically lost their lives in Pahalgam.
“In an operation where our military successfully crossed the border and neutralized over 100 terrorists in Pakistan, Mamata Banerjee has opted to question and oppose it. She is aligning with Pakistan's stance purely to safeguard her vote bank,” he asserted.
Operation Sindoor was initiated by Indian forces as a direct response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22.
Chugh accused the TMC government of transforming West Bengal into a center of infiltration, corruption, violence against women, and injustice towards Hindus.
Highlighting scandals such as the coal scam, teacher recruitment scam, livestock smuggling case, and housing scam, he remarked, “Every significant scandal in Bengal is rooted in the ruling party. When the government is deeply entrenched in corruption, how can the populace expect justice?”
His comments were a reaction to Mamata's claims that the BJP is utilizing Operation Sindoor for electoral advantages while insisting that the TMC is fully equipped to confront it.
In response to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's request for evidence of damage caused during Operation Sindoor, Chugh stated, “Only those who mourn for terrorists dare to advise us on national security. During the UPA era from 2004 to 2014, Indian soldiers were martyred daily, and your government merely wept. The UPA canceled cricket matches, engaged in trade discussions, and remained passive post-26/11. Your administration did nothing. Back then, our forces required approval from Delhi before firing a shot. Now, under Prime Minister Modi, our forces possess full operational autonomy.”
Chugh further asserted, “This is Modi’s New India—decisive, resilient, and dedicated to national security. Every address by Prime Minister Modi underscores his commitment to national defense. This perhaps irritates the Congress and TMC the most.”
