Kolkata, May 30 (NationPress) The chief of BJP’s Information Technology Cell, Amit Malviya, claimed on Friday that West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is leveraging “fake news” as a means to troll the BJP regarding Operation Sindoor.

He highlighted a fabricated news article allegedly published in a Hindi daily, which stated that the BJP has devised a strategy to distribute Sindoor (vermilion) to every household to gain political advantage from Operation Sindoor.

In his remarks, Malviya noted that while it is somewhat expected for ordinary citizens to react on social media to such misleading news, the truly ridiculous situation arises when the Chief Minister of West Bengal utilizes an official government platform to politicize this unfounded report.

He urged the Chief Minister to focus on the internal challenges in West Bengal instead of making comments on national security issues.

“Mamata Banerjee ought to be worried about the worsening situation in her own state and should avoid making absurd statements regarding sensitive matters like national security. West Bengal is currently facing communal strife, women’s safety is a major concern, and unemployment is rampant; these should be Mamata Banerjee’s top priorities,” Malviya stated.

He also characterized Congress spokespersons as frivolous, suggesting it is unrealistic to expect anything more from them.

On Thursday, following a critical address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the West Bengal government’s handling of issues such as corruption, women’s safety, and communal violence during a public rally in the Alipurduar district, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused PM Modi and other BJP leaders of trying to exploit Sindoor for political gain.

She further asserted that the term Operation Sindoor was politically charged.
