Congress's Rashid Alvi Accuses BJP of Rohingya and Bangladeshi Influx in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 1 (NationPress) Congress leader Rashid Alvi on Wednesday placed blame on the BJP for the influx of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis into India, amidst a renewed political dispute ignited by the AAP's allegations against Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
The AAP's National Convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, recently called for the arrest of Hardeep Singh Puri, accusing the Union Minister of facilitating the settlement of Rohingyas in India.
"He has all the data on where he settled Rohingyas and how. He posted it on 'X' and provided the information. Hardeep Singh Puri and Amit Shah possess all the data on how and where they have settled Rohingyas," Kejriwal stated.
In response to the situation, Rashid Alvi told IANS, "In Delhi, the police is under the control of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. I distinctly recall Hardeep Singh Puri's statement that they would provide housing for Rohingyas. So, who is to blame for this?"
Alvi further criticized the BJP for its dual standards, highlighting its amicable relations with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
"You have granted refuge to Sheikh Hasina, under whose regime many Bangladeshis entered our nation illegally. You are serving her korma and biryani. What sort of patriotism is that?" he questioned.
In 2022, Hardeep Singh Puri had announced on his social media profile on 'X' (formerly Twitter), "India has always welcomed those seeking refuge within its borders. In a significant decision, all Rohingya refugees will be relocated to EWS flats in the Bakkarwala area of Delhi. They will be provided with essential amenities, UNHCR IDs, and continuous protection from Delhi Police."
However, this assertion was later refuted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), which denied the existence of such a policy.
Alvi also referenced a letter penned by Arvind Kejriwal to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, questioning whether the Sangh endorsed the BJP's alleged "open distribution" of funds to voters in Delhi.
"The RSS chief makes one statement, while the BJP acts differently. They are distributing money in Delhi and undermining Muslim votes. This is not limited to Delhi; it’s a recurring theme seen throughout India during election periods. Meanwhile, the RSS leader remains entirely silent," Alvi remarked.
He condemned the contradictory messages from BJP leaders and RSS members. "It’s impossible for the BJP to operate without the RSS. The Prime Minister and RSS chief say one thing, while their members and leaders convey an entirely different narrative," Alvi concluded.
