Delhi BJP Criticizes AAP's Comments on Rohingya Issue

New Delhi, Dec 8 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated on Sunday that ever since the BJP commenced its initiative to disenfranchise those illegally residing Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in Delhi and expel them from India, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party have resorted to groundless rhetoric to shift focus from the serious challenges confronting the citizens of Delhi.

Sachdeva highlighted that Kejriwal and his colleagues, who profess to be educated, are misleading the public by referencing an outdated tweet from 2022 by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. This tweet addressed the settlement of legal refugees, as opposed to illegal infiltrators.

The Aam Aadmi Party also raised concerns regarding Rohingya infiltrators in 2022. The BJP clarified at that time — and continues to assert — that refugees constitute a distinct issue. However, illegal infiltrators should not be accommodated in residential flats; they ought to be placed in detention camps, he asserted.

The Delhi BJP President stressed that any nation that provides asylum to legal refugees must take measures for their protection and rehabilitation.

The pressing matter in Delhi is not the accommodation of legal refugees but the existence of millions of illegally residing Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, not only in Delhi but also in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jharkhand, he elaborated.

These illegal infiltrators are not only disrupting social harmony in Delhi and other regions but are also contributing to the rising crime rates within cities, he stated.

Sachdeva declared that the increase in crime in Delhi is a consequence of the deteriorating social fabric and that illegal Rohingyas and Bangladeshis are largely accountable for the declining law and order situation.

He further challenged Arvind Kejriwal to engage in an open debate regarding the harm inflicted by these infiltrators and invited him to conduct this discussion at Central Park, Connaught Place.
