New Delhi, Jan 10 (NationPress) Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and Finance Ministers from various states convened on Saturday to characterize the pre-budget consultation with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as a productive forum for articulating their states’ fiscal necessities and developmental priorities in anticipation of the upcoming Union Budget.
Goa's Chief Minister Pramod Sawant noted that his administration presented state-specific challenges during the meeting and advocated for the continuation of Central Sector Schemes that have been operational for the last five years.

Uttar Pradesh's Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna indicated that all states were encouraged to share their recommendations, with UP submitting proposals aimed at evolving into an “Uttam Pradesh.”
"Every state expressed its ambition to enhance its financial standing and spur growth," Khanna remarked.
Telangana's Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka stated that his state outlined the challenges it faces and requested increased funding for essential sectors like education, health, and irrigation.
"These sectors are crucial for sustainable development and public welfare," Vikramarka asserted.
West Bengal's Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya revealed that all ministers represented their states' concerns to the Centre.
"West Bengal urged fair treatment and requested the release of nearly Rs 1.97 lakh crore in outstanding dues, detailing the sectors affected by these delays," she highlighted.
Jharkhand's Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishor expressed concerns about fiscal challenges and the delays in central fund disbursements.
"The state bears a significant portion of the costs under a central scheme despite its limited resources," he pointed out.
He also claimed that central agencies are often misused in states governed by parties not in alignment with the ruling party at the Centre.
Punjab's Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema reported that Punjab faced considerable economic setbacks due to border tensions and floods this year.
He noted that a relief package of Rs 16 crore was announced previously but has yet to be disbursed, an issue he reiterated during the meeting.
