New Delhi, Feb 13 (NationPress) The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Delhi's South District mandated an interim decision on Thursday favoring students whose admit cards had been withheld by a school in the capital due to fee payment issues.

Upon receiving a complaint from the parents of six 10th-grade students at Apeejay School in Saket, the CWC instructed the Principal to promptly issue “admit cards to all six students,” stating that the fee matter could be resolved later.

The committee also directed officials from the Directorate of Education (DOE) to investigate the issue and provide assistance to the affected parents and children.

In its ruling, the CWC acknowledged that the case is currently under judicial review in the Delhi High Court, but deemed it necessary to take “immediate action-intervention to protect and save the students' entire academic year” and to alleviate their mental distress.

“Today we received a complaint from the parents of six children (a list is attached) from Apeejay School, Saket, studying in class 10, regarding the school not issuing admit cards for the upcoming board exams on 15-02-2025 due to fee deposit issues. In the best interest of the children, the following directives are issued: the Principal of Apeejay School, Saket, is ordered to immediately issue admit cards to all six students and resolve the fee issue afterward, while the DOE is also directed to prioritize facilitating assistance for parents and children,” the CWC stated.

In the meantime, the DOE has instructed Apeejay School, J Block, Saket, and Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai (Panchsheel Park), New Delhi, to issue admit cards for all students.

Harish Chaudhary, a member of the Naya Samaj Parent Association, informed IANS that if the matter remains unresolved, the parents of these students will reconvene with CWC officials on Friday morning.

He noted that a total of 13 students from both schools mentioned in the DOE directive have been affected.
