Patna, Aug 6 (NationPress) In a shocking act of audacity, a gang of six armed criminals executed a daylight robbery, making off with jewellery valued at Rs 12 lakh in the Gopalganj district of Bihar on Wednesday.
The armed assailants targeted Surbhi Jewellers, located in the Dharamparasa market, under the jurisdiction of the Manjha police station.
Arriving on three motorcycles, they burst into the shop and held the owner, staff, and customers hostage at gunpoint.
The gang discharged several rounds, instilling panic before escaping with the stolen items.
This brazen incident caused utter chaos in the market, compelling nearby shopkeepers to shutter their stores and flee the scene in terror.
The shocking robbery has provoked serious concerns regarding the security measures in place within the district.
Upon receiving alerts, Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rajesh Kumar and his team promptly arrived at the location to initiate an investigation.
High-ranking officers, including Saran range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Nilesh Kumar and Gopalganj Superintendent of Police Awadhesh Dixit, inspected the crime scene.
