Will the Number of Deleted Voters in the Final List Surpass the Draft in Bengal?

Key Takeaways
Kolkata, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the West Bengal Assembly and prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) figure, Suvendu Adhikari, remarked on Friday that the total count of voters removed from the final voters' list in the state is expected to significantly exceed the names already omitted from the draft voters' list.
The draft voters' list was unveiled on December 16 of last year, while the final version is set to be released on February 4 of this year, following the conclusion of the ongoing hearings concerning claims and objections related to the draft.
"Despite instances of vote tampering involving illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya voters backing the Trinamool Congress, the total number of votes garnered by the BJP in West Bengal during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was merely 40 lakh less than that of the ruling party (Trinamool Congress). Already, 58.20 lakh names have been eliminated from the draft voters' list. The final list will see even more illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya names removed," stated LoP Adhikari during a public gathering in Chanchal, located in Malda district.
During the event, Adhikari also emphasized the importance of Hindu voter unity in order to displace the current Trinamool Congress administration in the state.
"The results from the Maldaha (Uttar) constituency in Malda district, along with the Nandigram Assembly constituency in East Midnapore district, showcase what can happen when Hindu votes consolidate. If this unity is mirrored in other Assembly constituencies during the upcoming state elections, the BJP could secure victories in at least 220 out of 294 Assembly constituencies," the Leader of the Opposition asserted.
Notably, the BJP representative from Nandigram is none other than LoP Adhikari himself.
In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Suvendu Adhikari was elected from Nandigram, defeating the Trinamool Congress candidate and the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee.
Subsequently, Mamata Banerjee won a by-election from the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency in Kolkata, thereby maintaining her position as Chief Minister of West Bengal for a third consecutive term.
