Has Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Unveiled the 'Jan Sunwai Portal' to Address Complaints?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 21 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta officially launched several significant IT initiatives on Saturday, introducing the "CM Jan Sunwai Portal" along with a mobile application, e-district services via the Common Service Centre Digital Seva Portal, and an online enrollment platform for schools aimed at the Economically Weaker Sections/Disadvantaged Groups (SC/ST/OBC non-creamy, Transgender, HIV+, Orphans)/Children with Special Needs.
The Chief Minister expressed that these initiatives are designed to improve the convenience for residents of Delhi, motivated by the 'Digital India' vision promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She highlighted that the aim is to empower citizens by ensuring that government services are transparent, accessible, and free from corruption.
Among the attendees at the event held at the State Secretariat were Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, IT Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh, senior officials, and other notable figures.
In her address, CM Gupta stated that through technology, the Delhi government is narrowing the divide between the administration and the populace.
"The portals and applications introduced today are not just digital tools, but represent the Delhi government's commitment to 'good governance' and 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'," she remarked.
Providing insights about the CM Jan Sunwai Portal and app, the Chief Minister clarified that it will serve as an integrated platform.
"Citizens will have the ability to lodge complaints concerning the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), the Delhi Police, and all departments of the Delhi government, all through one unified platform," she stated.
"The system has been designed to be straightforward and user-friendly, ensuring that individuals can submit grievances without facing technical challenges. Complaints, jurisdictions, and departmental officers have already been mapped within the system," CM Gupta added.
"Citizens can file complaints through four methods: the online portal, mobile app, call center (1902), and offline submissions at the Chief Minister's Office. A three-tier grievance redressal mechanism has been established, which includes a Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO), Appellate Authority (AA), and Final Appellate Authority (FAA)."
CM Gupta further stated: "The physical Jan Sunwai sessions will persist. From the Chief Minister to district-level officials, all have been instructed to organize public hearings. However, thanks to the digital platform, citizens can now register complaints from anywhere. The portal is a symbol of a government that is not only willing to listen but is also determined to provide swift solutions."
The official web address for the Chief Minister's 'Jan Sunwai Portal' is https://cmjansunwai.delhi.gov.in, where citizens can directly visit to lodge their complaints online.
A mobile application named 'CM Jansunwai' is also available, which Android users can download from the Google Play Store or through the official website.
"To register a complaint, visit the website and select the option 'Register a Complaint'. You will need to enter your mobile number, which will receive an OTP for verification. After entering the OTP, you will be prompted to provide details regarding your grievance, such as a description of the issue, the relevant department (e.g., water, electricity, pension, etc.), and the appropriate locality. Citizens can also upload supporting documents related to the complaint."
Upon submission of the complaint, a reference or registration number will be generated, which can be used to track the status of the grievance at any time.
The portal also allows users to check their complaint status, send reminders in case of delays, and provide feedback on the resolution process.
This empowers citizens to oversee both the progress and the quality of grievance redressal.
