New Delhi, March 22 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, announced on Saturday that the forthcoming Budget 2025-26 will genuinely represent the people, driven by over 10,000 public suggestions aimed at fostering positive change.
With a commitment to unveil a “milestone” Budget, CM Gupta indicated that residents of Delhi will witness the “Double-Engine Sarkar” advancing to a new level of performance.
In her statement regarding the Viksit Delhi Budget, she emphasized that priorities have been set based on the feedback of Delhi's citizens, integrating their aspirations. The assembly session is scheduled to commence on March 25-28, starting with a ‘Kheer ceremony’ at the Delhi Assembly.
“We have received 3,303 emails and 6,982 suggestions via WhatsApp... every suggestion has proved invaluable in drafting the Viksit Delhi Budget,” she highlighted, noting that this will mark the first Budget presented by a BJP government in the city in 27 years.
The Chief Minister further stated that this draft Budget represents a significant step towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.
“The emphasis will be on uplifting the living conditions of women, the underprivileged, youth, and workers, while striving to make Delhi a world-class Capital,” she remarked.
Commending the extensive public engagement in shaping the Budget, she mentioned that the government had established a dedicated email and WhatsApp number for suggestions starting March 3.
She added that consultations were conducted with a diverse range of stakeholders including educators, influencers, business leaders, farmers, legislators, MPs, councillors, youth, medical professionals, CAs, and slum residents before finalizing the Budget.
“This will not be a government-driven Budget but a people’s Budget,” she expressed gratitude towards the public for their involvement in this initiative.
The Budget will target the financial empowerment of women, ensure a steady supply of water and electricity, address waterlogging, combat air pollution, clean the Yamuna, and enhance education and health services, job opportunities, and basic infrastructure.
“We aim to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Viksit Delhi,” she affirmed.
The Chief Minister announced that the Budget session will feature “Delhi ka Vikas and Kheer Ki Mithas”, with plans to serve sweet kheer to all beneficiaries of the Budget.
