New Delhi, March 6 (NationPress) In a significant review on Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta assessed development projects totaling Rs 3,786 crore and urged officials across all departments to expedite the completion of these initiatives before the onset of the monsoon season.
The Chief Minister led the meeting focused on various development efforts being executed throughout the national capital, financed by the Chief Minister Development Fund (CMDF), Delhi Village Development Board (DVDB), and Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board (TYADB).
Attendees included DVDB Chairman Rajkumar Chauhan, TYADB Chairman Arvinder Singh Lovely, along with other senior departmental officials.
Emphasizing the need for visible progress, Chief Minister Gupta stated that the development projects approved thus far under these three boards amount to nearly Rs 3,786 crore.
She reiterated that the optimal use of budgetary allocations for developmental activities is a top priority for the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister instructed officials to initiate the necessary processes for development projects at the beginning of the new financial year to ensure timely completion.
To enhance basic infrastructure within the national capital and promote local development, a substantial number of initiatives have been sanctioned under the Chief Minister Development Fund (CMDF).
Currently, a total of 3,812 development projects have received administrative approval under this initiative, with an overall estimated expenditure of approximately Rs 1,798.85 crore.
These projects encompass the construction of roads, drainage systems, water supply enhancements, streetlight installation, park developments, and other essential infrastructure facilities.
According to Chief Minister Gupta, various agencies including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Delhi Jal Board (DJB), Public Works Department (PWD), Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) are responsible for implementing these initiatives.
The majority of projects are being executed through the MCD.
Post-meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted that the Delhi government is persistently making impactful strides toward the comprehensive development of rural areas.
"In this context, 707 development projects in various rural regions have been approved under the Delhi Village Development Board (DVDB), with a financial commitment of around Rs 1,557 crore.
Chief Minister Gupta further noted that these schemes aim to bolster basic infrastructure in villages and enhance the living conditions of their inhabitants.
The implementation of these projects is being managed by various government agencies, she clarified.
Among these, 411 projects have been allocated to the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, 293 projects to the MCD, and three projects to the DSIIDC. The pace of these developmental efforts is notably rapid.
