New Delhi, Jan 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, presided over a significant meeting of the Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board (TYADB) on Thursday, where projects totaling Rs 728 crore were sanctioned.

She stated that the purpose of this approval is to greatly enhance the development momentum in the Trans-Yamuna region, which is home to nearly one-third of Delhi's residents.

The Chief Minister assured that there would be ample budgetary provisions for the development initiatives in the Trans-Yamuna area, instructing Board members to prioritize projects based on genuine requirements.

This meeting took place at the Delhi Secretariat and was attended by State Minister Kapil Mishra, Chairman of the TYADB and BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely, along with other notable Board members.

During her address, Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that the development of the Trans-Yamuna area remains one of the top priorities of the Delhi government.

The aim is to transform the Trans-Yamuna region into a place where individuals would prefer to settle voluntarily.

She highlighted the importance of maintaining a balance in development efforts, stressing that while beautification is important, the basic needs of the citizens such as road construction, drainage systems, waterlogging prevention, and safe transportation must be prioritized.

Chief Minister Gupta expressed her concerns regarding the inactivity of the Board during the previous Aam Aadmi Party government's administration, which led to a significant slowdown in development in the Trans-Yamuna area, causing considerable distress to the residents.

She guaranteed that all projects recommended by the Board would be implemented, asserting that financial limitations would not hinder progress.

Additionally, Chief Minister Gupta announced plans for the construction of a modern integrated complex, featuring state-of-the-art facilities for the rehabilitation and reform of children in legal conflict.

This complex will be built on approximately eight acres of land located in Alipur.

With a capacity to accommodate nearly 700 children, the facility will serve those awaiting hearings before the Juvenile Justice Board under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, as well as those convicted of offenses.

The primary focus of this facility will be the reintegration of these children into society.

This decision was made during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister with members of the Juvenile Justice Committee.

Senior officials from the Department of Women and Child Development were also present.

The discussions covered various legal, social, and humanitarian aspects related to children, and a consensus was reached on the necessity of establishing a comprehensive, safe, and modern system in Delhi for children facing legal issues.

After the meeting, Chief Minister Gupta noted that several homes for such children currently exist throughout Delhi, many of which are outdated.

"Thus, the Delhi government has resolved to establish a cutting-edge integrated complex for the housing and rehabilitation of these children," she stated.
