New Delhi, March 29 (NationPress) In a significant operation, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police apprehended Mohd. Israr, a 52-year-old arms dealer involved in inter-state supply linked to organized criminal groups across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

The suspect, who had been on the run since 2024 and was declared a proclaimed offender, had a reward of Rs 50,000 for his capture.

As per the statement released by the Crime Branch, Israr was arrested in relation to a case under the Arms Act, documented at PS Crime Branch, Delhi. He is implicated in six criminal cases, including murder, robbery, and breaches of the Arms Act, with an additional reward of Rs 5,000 offered for his arrest in a 2024 case from Haryana.

In August 2024, a shooter named Ankit, aged 24, was taken into custody in Delhi with three high-end pistols, a single-shot pistol, 13 live cartridges, two magazines, and a stolen motorcycle. Investigations indicated that Israr was the supplier of the firearms used in these offenses.

During his illicit operations, Israr allegedly ran an illegal firearms manufacturing facility in Kairana, Uttar Pradesh, which was shut down by law enforcement about two months prior.

Officials noted that extensive efforts by the Anti-Gangster Squad (AGS) of the Crime Branch, spearheaded by Inspector Krishan Kumar under the guidance of ACP Bhagwati Prasad, were pivotal in tracing and capturing the accused.

Acting on confidential intelligence, the team set a trap near the Delhi–Loni border on March 25 and successfully apprehended Israr, also recovering a single-shot pistol from him.

“Due to severe financial difficulties, the accused became involved with criminal elements, leading him to produce and supply firearms to dangerous criminals engaged in serious offenses such as murder and robbery,” officials stated.

Israr, a carpenter by trade, has ten children from two marriages and was first incarcerated in 2016. After his release, he began supplying illegal firearms to criminals involved in bank heists, murders, and other violent crimes.

Authorities highlighted that Israr had supplied the pistols used in the July 2024 murder of Jaipal Dudhiya in Gohana, Haryana, underscoring the extent of his criminal network.
