New Delhi, April 15 (NationPress) The Delhi Police Crime Branch has apprehended another individual linked to a transnational arms trafficking and terror organization, recognized as Harshpal Singh, also known as Rubal. A highly advanced weapon was seized from him during the arrest.

This arrest signifies a pivotal moment in the ongoing probe into an extensive international arms smuggling syndicate with purported connections to terrorist activities. Officials stated that Harshpal Singh was actively involved in a well-structured crime group and faces serious charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, as well as the Arms Act.

Previously, on February 11, the Delhi High Court approved bail for another accused linked to the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), citing infringements of constitutional rights due to delays in presenting the individual before a magistrate.

This recent development follows a series of operations conducted by the Crime Branch.

On April 7, the Delhi Police detained two alleged arms suppliers, Imran (37) and Kamran (27), associated with the same international network. They were captured at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on April 2, following Look Out Circulars issued against them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Authorities recovered two firearms and 11 live cartridges from their possession.

Investigators uncovered that this syndicate functioned through a systematic cross-border network involving the procurement, transit, and distribution of illegal arms. The funds generated from these activities were allegedly directed towards supporting terrorist operations.

Earlier, on March 25, the Crime Branch dismantled a significant international arms smuggling ring, resulting in the arrest of 10 principal operatives. A large cache of foreign-manufactured firearms intended for a notorious gangster syndicate across India was also confiscated.

The investigation, spearheaded by DCP Sanjeev Yadav, revealed a deeply rooted network with connections extending to Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Officials indicated that the primary supply route commenced in Pakistan, with weapons being trafficked through the Indo-Nepal border before arriving in Delhi, which acted as a central hub for storage and distribution.

The operatives were known to supply high-quality firearms to infamous gangs operating within Delhi-NCR, Punjab, and adjacent states. During the raids, authorities seized 21 sophisticated firearms and 200 live cartridges, alarming security agencies due to the advanced specifications of the weapons.

Among the confiscated arms were high-precision pistols such as PX-5.7, along with globally recognized brands including Stoeger (Turkey), Shadow CZ (Czech Republic), Beretta (Italy), Taurus (Brazil), and Walther (Germany). Additionally, a PX-3 pistol, frequently encountered in cross-border smuggling, was also seized.

Notably, a cutting-edge submachine gun manufactured in the Czech Republic was recovered, a weapon seldom found in the possession of street-level criminals, underscoring the module’s sophisticated capabilities.
