New Delhi, Aug 8 (NationPress) - Delhi's Art, Culture, Language, and Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra announced on Friday that the Delhi government is set to launch the nation's most forward-thinking and all-encompassing film and tourism policy.
Speaking at the opening session of the Celebrating India Film Festival held at the National Cooperative Union of India Auditorium, Mishra stated, “The Delhi government is diligently working to establish the city as the prime destination for film production.”
“A streamlined Single Window Clearance system has been introduced for film producers wishing to shoot in the capital,” he added.
Mishra also highlighted that significant festivals like this will be organized with the assistance of the Delhi Government, emphasizing: “Films are a crucial medium for showcasing a nation’s culture and act as a tool for national branding.”
He mentioned that a dedicated budget has been set aside for the forthcoming International Film Festival to be held in Delhi.
This three-day festival kicked off in the presence of numerous notable figures from the film industry, including former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, renowned filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, and actors Manoj Joshi and Ishita Bhatt, among others.
During the event, Mishra remarked that this festival is a pivotal initiative to showcase the diversity, rich culture, and creativity of Indian cinema on a collective platform.
The Delhi Minister expressed that this film festival transcends mere entertainment — it’s a celebration of dialogue, identity, and creativity.
