New Delhi, June 3 (NationPress) In a significant move towards boosting employment opportunities, the Delhi Government convened a meeting on Tuesday to explore methods for providing jobs to young people across various sectors, including manual labour, engineering, as well as technical and non-technical fields, according to an official statement.
Labour and Employment Minister Kapil Mishra led this crucial meeting with delegates from the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, CII, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with officials from the Department of Training and Technical Education, the Department of Higher Education, and the Delhi Technical Institute.
“Every youth in Delhi is our priority. Our objective is to ensure that there is no unemployment in the city,” Mishra stated.
The meeting aimed to develop a detailed strategy to link the youth of Delhi with productive employment and establish effective collaboration among various departments and industrial entities, Mishra said.
He stressed that the Delhi Government is committed to doing everything possible to eradicate unemployment.
Mishra encouraged all stakeholders to collaborate, ensuring that every young person receives employment opportunities that match their skills and aspirations.
“Whether they are a manual labourer, an engineer, or a youth from a technical or non-technical background — we are determined to secure job opportunities for everyone. This upcoming job fair will be a groundbreaking initiative towards fulfilling the ambitions of Delhi’s youth,” he remarked.
Mishra noted that the meeting signifies the Delhi Government’s unwavering dedication to provide job opportunities for every young individual and to transform Delhi into a city devoid of unemployment.
In collaboration with industrial associations, educational institutions, and government agencies, the government aims to create a strong framework that not only promotes employment generation but also leads to a promising future for the youth, tailored to their talents and abilities, he explained.
The Delhi Government’s Budget for 2025-26 includes allocations for conducting employment fairs. This initiative will create a unified platform to connect job-seeking youth directly with hiring organizations.
The inaugural mega job fair is slated for July 2025, paving the way for new employment opportunities for the youth of Delhi.
