Bengaluru, Aug 19 (NationPress) Dharmadhikari of the renowned Dharmasthala temple and BJP Rajya Sabha member Veerendra Heggade addressed the latest developments regarding the mass grave allegations, asserting that there is a deliberate attempt to steer youths away from their faith.
While speaking to the media about the alleged Dharmasthala murders case, Heggade remarked, “Any inquiry is welcome. However, the misinformation spread through social media has led to significant confusion, particularly among the younger generation.”
“The intention seems to be to distract youths from their faith. Such messages have unsettled them. This is a profoundly troubling situation,” he emphasized.
“Today, we are organizing a youth event, yet there have been efforts to sway them away from the temple and religious observances. This has negatively impacted the mental state of our youngsters, which is unacceptable,” Heggade expressed.
Regarding the alleged Sowjanya gang rape and murder case, he stated, “This individual had no connection with our organization. It was our staff who rushed to the scene that day. I promptly notified the government to apprehend the perpetrator. We have no involvement except for alerting the police. Despite this, accusations have been directed at our family members who were abroad at that time.”
“While they were overseas for their education, allegations emerged claiming they were involved in this crime. These claims are entirely unfounded, yet we have been unjustly implicated. There are suggestions of involvement from specific individuals, but we lack the evidence to substantiate it. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) must disclose these names and validate who is tarnishing the institution’s reputation,” he stated.
“This is the responsibility of the SIT. We are closely monitoring the SIT’s findings. Interim orders were issued recently, and we now await the final verdict, hoping for a clear report. We have taken every step possible to ensure transparency and have stated, ‘Proceed with any inquiry—we are open to it,’” Heggade concluded.
In a significant update, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara announced that the investigation into the mass grave case will pause until the chemical and DNA analysis reports are received. This decision was made by the SIT.
He shared this information in the Legislative Assembly on Monday while addressing questions from BJP members about the matter. When asked about the duration of the SIT investigation, Parameshwara replied, “To date, only exhumation has taken place. Samples have been collected and sent for DNA and soil analysis. The investigation will proceed based on the forthcoming reports.”
The Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its criticism of the Congress-led government concerning the mass grave case, labeling the formation of the SIT to investigate Dharmasthala as a conspiracy orchestrated by the Congress party.
Leader of the Opposition, R. Ashoka, declared in Bengaluru that, “The Dharmasthala SIT is a conspiracy by Congress, scripted by ultra-leftists and executed by the Siddaramaiah government.”
He further condemned, “The so-called investigation into Dharmasthala is merely a fabricated conspiracy by the Congress high command—scripted and guided by ultra-leftists and urban naxals. These factions are closely allied with CM Siddaramaiah and are directing government actions.”
