Patna, March 12 (NationPress) In a disturbing event, a father reportedly provided milk tainted with poison to his four kids before consuming it himself in the Bhojpur district of Bihar.

The milk was served during dinner on Tuesday night, resulting in the tragic loss of three children by Wednesday morning.

This incident took place in Belwania village, within the jurisdiction of the Bihiya police station.

Three of the children, identified as Nandini Kumari (13 years), Tony Kumar (7 years), and Palak Kumari (5 years), succumbed to their injuries at the hospital while their father Arvind Kumar and brother Adarsh Kumar are currently in critical condition and fighting for their lives in a private medical facility.

Arvind Kumar, who owns an electronics shop, allegedly mixed poison into the milk. His wife had died ten months prior, leaving him overwhelmed with significant financial debts.

Bihiya police station’s SHO, Bhagat Yadav, stated that other family members were away attending a wedding on Tuesday night.

“They returned home around 11:30 p.m. to find the house locked. After knocking for a while without receiving a response, they forced the door open and discovered Arvind and the four children unconscious on the floor,” Yadav explained.

“The family quickly transported them to Ara Sadar Hospital in a critical state. Sadly, three children passed away during medical treatment on Wednesday morning,” he added.

“It appears to be a family issue. We are awaiting recovery of Arvind and Adarsh so that we can gather their accounts to understand the reasons behind this heartbreaking occurrence,” Yadav noted.

“We have documented statements from the victims' family members, and no one suspects foul play. However, we are investigating all possibilities. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and we are currently awaiting the reports. The medical findings, family statements, and post-mortem results will be analyzed scientifically,” he continued.

“We have requested the FSL team to gather samples of the food and milk for testing. These findings will also shed light on this incident,” Yadav concluded.
