Bengaluru, May 12 (NationPress) – In two distinct and tragic road incidents on Monday, five individuals lost their lives in Chitradurga district and Hosakote town near Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The first incident involved a head-on crash between an Innova car and a truck near the Kanive Anjaneya temple on the national highway during the morning in Chitradurga. The car, registered in Andhra Pradesh, resulted in the deaths of three people, including a woman. The victims have been identified as Sunita (34), Shyam (29), and Shivu (35).
Initial investigations revealed that the victims were en route from Chitradurga to Holalkere. The collision's force left the car unrecognizable. The Holalkere police quickly arrived at the scene and transported the bodies to the local mortuary. While the precise cause of the accident remains undetermined, authorities believe that overspeeding may have contributed to the crash.
In a second incident that occurred during the early hours, two individuals were killed and another critically injured in a collision involving a tempo and a motorcycle at Chikkahullur village in Hoskote taluk, Bengaluru Rural district.
The identities of the deceased are still being verified. According to police reports, an overspeeding tempo collided with the motorcycle, leading to this tragic outcome. Three riders were on the motorcycle, with two succumbing to injuries at the scene, while the third was critically injured and taken to a private hospital.
The tempo driver fled the scene. The Hosakote Traffic Police have since registered a case and initiated a search for the driver who absconded. The bodies have been moved to the local government hospital's mortuary.
Preliminary investigations point towards overspeeding and negligent driving as possible causes of the accident. Further inquiries are ongoing.
