After the search, Amitabh Das was taken into custody and transported to the police station for further interrogation.
During his apprehension, Das appeared visibly upset and accused the government of intentionally framing him.
He asserted to the media that the search was politically driven and claimed that the police attempted to plant incriminating evidence in his home to unjustly implicate him in serious accusations.
Police officials stated that the former IPS officer’s online activity was swaying public opinion regarding the case and could pose a threat to law and order.
They emphasized that disseminating misinformation during an active investigation is a grave issue, necessitating legal action.
The suspicious death at Shambhu Girls’ Hostel remains under scrutiny, with police urging the public to refrain from spreading rumors or unverified claims.
The NEET aspirant was discovered unconscious at the hostel in the Chitragupt Nagar area on January 6 and tragically succumbed to her injuries at a private hospital on January 11.
Post-mortem and FSL reports indicated that sexual assault cannot be ruled out.
