Patna, Sep 19 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader and MP for Patna Sahib, Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Friday criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of misleading the public and instigating anarchism under the guise of Gen-Z advocacy.
During a press conference in Patna, the former minister claimed that Gandhi is perpetuating falsehoods regarding the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Prasad's comments were in response to Gandhi's recent post on the social media platform X, where he stated: "Desh ke yuva, desh ke students, and desh ke Gen Z will save the Constitution, democracy, and vote theft. I always stand with them. Jai Hind."
Condemning Gandhi's statement, Prasad remarked, "What message is Rahul Gandhi attempting to send with such posts? Is he inciting violence and creating chaos in our nation? His actions are in direct opposition to democracy, the Constitution, and our country. I strongly rebuke this unfortunate and unacceptable statement."
Prasad further accused Gandhi of disseminating misinformation about the ECI.
"Rahul Gandhi has made serious accusations against the Election Commission without conducting proper research. He targeted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, who only assumed office a few months ago, regarding an incident from 2023. How can he be held accountable? Rahul Gandhi is deceiving the populace," he stated.
Referencing a case from Karnataka's Aland Assembly constituency, Ravi Shankar Prasad highlighted that the seat was won by Congress in 2023 following the BJP's victory in 2018, and the High Court mandated a re-poll.
"Gandhi is questioning the legitimacy of an election in which his party's candidate won by 248 votes. Is he aware he is casting doubt on his own victory?" Prasad questioned.
The BJP leader argued that Gandhi has lost all sense of propriety and urged him to cease deceiving the public with unfounded claims.
Prasad pointed out that the Election Commission has clarified that an FIR filed in 2023 is under investigation by the state CID in Karnataka, a state currently led by Congress.
He challenged why Rahul has not inquired about his own party's government if the investigation remains unresolved.
Prasad dismissed Gandhi's assertion that a "third-party digital link" erased votes, emphasizing the ongoing investigation and the filed FIR.
He also questioned Gandhi's credibility, asserting that the Congress leader makes statements without adequate research and suggested he consider different advisers.
"Who is guiding him? He should find a new tutor," Prasad insisted, labeling Gandhi's accusations as irresponsible and advised him to address inquiries to his own state government if there are any lapses in the investigation.
