Quetta, Jan 19 (NationPress) Prominent Baloch human rights advocate, Mir Yar Baloch, criticized Pakistan's participation in the US-led Gaza Board of Peace as the epitome of hypocrisy. His comments came after the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Board of Peace for Gaza.

"Selecting Pakistan, a country notorious for sheltering international terrorists and instigating proxy conflicts, for the Gaza Board of Peace is not only ironic but also a distorted representation of diplomacy. It’s akin to giving a pyromaniac the keys to a fire station amidst a raging inferno," Mir expressed on X.

He pointed out that Pakistan provided sanctuary to terrorist Osama bin Laden in a lavish Abbottabad residence, directly under the surveillance of its military academy, while simultaneously receiving billions in US aid and masquerading as a partner in the 'war on terror'.

The activist accused Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of consistently financing and training militant organizations such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, which were responsible for the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and the Pahalgam attacks on April 22 of the previous year.

"These are not rogue entities; they are state-sponsored proxies, transforming Pakistan into the world's leading exporter of jihad. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan himself admitted in 2019 that there are 30,000–40,000 armed terrorists operating within its borders," Mir stated.

He emphasized that the true contradiction lies with Pakistan's military, often hailed as protectors of Islam, which he claimed has killed more Muslims than any non-Muslim force in contemporary history.

Recalling the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War against Pakistan, Mir mentioned that the Pakistani army executed Operation Searchlight in Bangladesh, resulting in the deaths of 3 million Bangladeshi Bengalis, primarily Muslim civilians, in a genocidal campaign marked by rape, arson, and executions that astounded the global community.

According to the human rights advocate, the Pakistani army's so-called "counter-terror" operations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have turned into a license for enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and airstrikes that obliterate entire villages, displacing and killing thousands of Pashtuns, Baloch, and other Muslim ethnic groups under the guise of 'security'.

Mir referenced reports from Human Rights Watch and the US State Department, which documented a series of human rights violations, including torture, forced disappearances, and assaults on religious minorities such as Hindus, Sikhs, Shias, and Ahmadis throughout the nation, all while the Pakistani military operates a 'shadow state of terror'.

"This is not a nation; it’s a rogue regime pretending to be a republic, where the army’s motto could be 'Jihad for profit,' draining its Muslim populace while exporting chaos to Afghanistan, India, and beyond," he stressed.

Mir urged the international community to awaken to the reality and label Pakistan for what it is—a terrorist state—while imposing sanctions on its military elite until its terror apparatus is dismantled.
