Itanagar, Sep 22 (NationPress) The entrepreneurial community in Arunachal Pradesh expressed their gratitude towards the recent GST reforms, stating that the new tax structure will significantly benefit traders and various trading sectors.
Tarh Nachung, President of the Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACC&I), conveyed his contentment following his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Itanagar on Monday. He emphasized that the revised GST rates are anticipated to positively influence all stakeholders.
After his 25-minute face-to-face discussion with PM Modi, Nachung remarked that this interaction is likely to have a constructive effect on local commerce and industry.
The dialogue primarily revolved around the newly simplified GST structure, which now consists of only two slabs: 5 percent and 18 percent. This adjustment is projected to aid shopkeepers, consumers, and sectors such as insurance, construction, and private vehicle ownership, according to Nachung.
He pointed out that many residents in the remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh were previously unfamiliar with GST. However, the state government has implemented strategies to improve awareness across all 28 districts, ensuring both traders and consumers reap the benefits of these reforms.
Describing the meeting as “highly valuable,” he noted the Prime Minister took the time to explain how these reforms would bolster the business community and enhance consumer advantages.
During the meeting, part of the “GST Bachat Utsav” event, PM Modi elaborated on the advantages of the newly introduced GST rate reductions.
He assured that the GST reforms, effective from Monday, will positively impact the poor, middle class, women, farmers, traders, and entrepreneurs, encouraging everyone to celebrate a grand “GST Bachat Utsav”.
