Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Gandhinagar, Jan 6 (NationPress) The Gujarat branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) convened a press conference in Gandhinagar on Tuesday as part of the 'Mission Gramin' initiative, with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in attendance.
The session was spearheaded by Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma, highlighting the state government's rural development plans in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat'.
During the conference, Vishwakarma emphasized that the Gujarat administration is dedicated to transforming the Prime Minister's developmental framework into real benefits at the grassroots level.
He showcased the success of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which has provided permanent housing to thousands of families, ensuring dignity and stability for economically disadvantaged groups.
A significant aspect of the press briefing was the introduction of the Viksit Bharat–Gramin Rozgar Abhiyan (VB-G RAM G), which, according to Vishwakarma, is designed to greatly enhance rural employment prospects.
He stated that while previous initiatives like MGNREGA offered 100 days of work, the new structure will expand employment opportunities to 125 days.
Moreover, he mentioned that special measures have been implemented to guarantee job availability during the agricultural season.
Vishwakarma also highlighted the Union government's efforts to tighten regulations to eliminate fake job cards and prevent fraudulent beneficiaries from exploiting welfare schemes.
He contrasted the current administration with previous central governments, recalling former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's remark that only a fraction of welfare funds reached the intended recipients due to corruption.
"Today, under Prime Minister Modi, benefits are directly deposited into beneficiaries' bank accounts via online systems," he remarked.
In a pointed criticism of the Congress party, Vishwakarma accused them of continuously renaming programs and misleading the populace.
He questioned whether such actions showed a lack of respect for former leaders and accused the Congress of historically resisting initiatives focused on rural development, employment, and cultural identity.
Labeling the Congress a "corruption factory," Vishwakarma stated that Prime Minister Modi has intentionally refrained from naming initiatives after himself, emphasizing service to the public and accountability.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while addressing the audience, clarified that the press conference aimed to elucidate the goals and framework of the VB-G RAM G scheme.
He pointed out that over the past 11 years, the Prime Minister's efforts have consistently prioritized the welfare of the public and upliftment of marginalized communities.
Referencing flagship programs such as PM Jan Dhan Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PM SVANidhi, Har Ghar Jal, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and PM Matru Vandana Yojana, Chief Minister Patel noted that nearly 25 crore people across the nation have been lifted out of poverty.
