Gurugram, March 25 (NationPress) The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Gurugram, Adesh Kumar Meena, has instructed the Mining, Police, Forest, and Regional Transport Authority (RTA) departments to implement stringent measures against the illegal mining operations within the Aravali range through a collaborative initiative.

He emphasized the need for officials to pinpoint the locations of unlawful mining activities in the district and formulate a strategic action plan to combat it.

Additionally, he mandated that the Mining Department officials ensure mining activities are restricted to designated lease areas within the district.

This directive was issued during a meeting of the District Level Task Force Committee of the Mining Department that the ADC chaired on Tuesday in Gurugram.

During the meeting, the ADC also instructed the formation of specialized monitoring teams to effectively address illegal mining in the district.

These teams will monitor vehicles suspected of engaging in illegal mining operations on various roads and ensure compliance with departmental regulations.

He instructed the SDM, Sohna, along with the District Mining Department officials, to conduct joint inspections and continually oversee illegal mining activities in the Aravalli area, ensuring a prohibition on such operations.

Moreover, the ADC requested that a comprehensive report be prepared for the next meeting detailing actions taken regarding the FIRs filed for illegal mining over the past three months.

During the meeting, Assistant Mining Engineer Surender Solanki reported that the Mining Department has confiscated 50 vehicles in the current financial year in the Gurugram district.

He also noted that 14 FIRs have been filed during this timeframe, with a cumulative fine of Rs 66.13 lakh imposed.

Regarding the vehicle inspections conducted in March, he mentioned that 123 vehicles have been checked and appropriate actions have been taken.

In the meeting, Motor Vehicle Officer Harender Veer from the RTA department reported that 163 overloaded vehicles were penalized in March, resulting in a fine of Rs 1.21 crore.
