Home Minister Amit Shah Commends ‘The Sabarmati Report’ for Its Representation of a Heart-Wrenching Event

Mumbai, Dec 3 (NationPress) The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, has showered accolades on the newly released film ‘The Sabarmati Report’, starring Vikrant Massey in the principal role.

Amit Shah viewed the film during a special screening in the national capital, accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various dignitaries from the government.

On Tuesday, he took to his X, previously known as Twitter, to share an extensive note where he praised the film and its creators.

He stated, “The film 'The Sabarmati Report' has unveiled the reality of Godhra. Through this cinematic portrayal, audiences are learning how a significant truth was concealed from the nation for years. Today, I watched this film with Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and NDA MPs. Congratulations to the entire team of 'The Sabarmati Report' for this admirable effort.”

The film has also been granted tax exemption in several states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Odisha.

‘The Sabarmati Report’ draws inspiration from the tragic event involving the burning of the Sabarmati Express train. This incident took place on February 27, 2002, when a mob set fire to the S6 coach of the Sabarmati Express near the Godhra railway station in Gujarat. In the film, Vikrant Massey portrays a Hindi journalist who challenges the system, striving to ensure the truth is accurately reported.
