Amaravati, Nov 2 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, paid homage to the late Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former Union Minister, Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu, on the occasion of his death anniversary, labeling him as a beacon of high values.
Naidu, also serving as the TDP President, remarked that this cherished son of Uttarandhra (North Andhra) represented high moral standards.
In a post shared on X, he noted that Yerrannaidu made a lasting impact not just on state politics but also on the national political landscape as an exemplary parliamentarian.
During his tribute, the TDP chief referred to Yerrannaidu as a “symbol of Telugu strength”, his “best friend”, and a “leader of the people”.
K. Ram Mohan Naidu, Yerrannaidu’s son and the Civil Aviation Minister, also offered heartfelt tributes, calling him a visionary leader.
“Today marks the 13th death anniversary of my beloved father, late Shri Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu garu. A visionary leader and relentless advocate, he devoted his life to the welfare of the people in Srikakulam. His legacy of compassion, commitment, and unwavering support for our community endures in the hearts of those he inspired. Forever thankful for his guidance and inspiration,” he shared.
Andhra Pradesh's Education and IT Minister, Nara Lokesh, also commemorated Yerrannaidu on this significant day.
The TDP General Secretary emphasized that Yerrannaidu worked tirelessly until his last breath for the advancement of North Andhra and the upliftment of the underprivileged.
“He carved a unique space for himself in politics and remains immortal in the hearts of the people. On the anniversary of Yerrannaidu Garu's demise, let us reflect on the contributions he made to the nation and the state,” wrote Lokesh.
Yerrannaidu entered politics in 1982, motivated by the TDP founder and former Chief Minister, N.T. Rama Rao.
A four-time MP and four-time MLA, Yerrannaidu served as the Union Rural Development Minister from 1996 to 1998.
He was elected to the Lok Sabha four times from Srikakulam, winning continuously from 1996 to 2004. His first defeat came in the 2009 elections when he lost to the Congress candidate Killi Kruparani.
Tragically, Yerrannaidu passed away in a road accident in 2012 at the age of 55.
