Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh), May 27 (NationPress) The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) stands as a unique entity and a pioneer in welfare, reforms, and development, asserted its national President and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday.
In his inaugural address at the TDP’s Mahanadu or annual conclave held here, Naidu highlighted that through positive politics, the TDP is the sole party that has infused values into the political landscape.
He emphasized that no other political group in the nation has endured as many challenges as the TDP has over its 43-year journey.
Setting the stage for discussions in the days to come, he remarked that this Mahanadu will be historic in providing direction to the party.
During the first Mahanadu since the TDP-led NDA assumed power in the state in June of the previous year, Naidu claimed that the upcoming 2024 elections would witness an unprecedented victory for the party. He noted a remarkable 93 percent strike rate, attributing this success to the tireless efforts of TDP workers. He reiterated the importance of the alliance with the Jana Sena and the BJP, urging all three parties to collaborate and triumph together.
Naidu pointed out that this Mahanadu is being organized in Kadapa for the first time. He mentioned that the party secured victory in 7 out of 10 Assembly seats in the unified Kadapa district and encouraged party members to strive for a complete sweep in the upcoming elections.
Taking a jab at those who predicted the TDP's demise, he said, "Those who claimed that the TDP was finished have themselves perished."
Criticizing the YSR Congress Party, Naidu remarked that the previous government transformed governance into a realm of murder and vendetta, alleging that the YSRCP's destructive regime devastated the state. "The TDP members who opposed the government faced threats and were targeted. False charges were leveled against them, yet they upheld the party's honor," he stated.
Having recently celebrated his 75th birthday, Naidu asserted that the TDP deserves credit for incorporating values into Indian politics. “While in opposition, we combated corruption, and in governance, we ensured a transparent administration. We safeguarded the rights and assets of the populace," he said.
He added that every political party in the Telugu states has students who are alumni of a TDP-established university. "The legacy of the TDP cannot be erased. The party has made a significant impact in the nation through its policies and ideologies," he stated.
As he embarks on his fourth term as Chief Minister, Naidu proclaimed the TDP as a brand. “We transitioned unemployed individuals into IT professionals. TDP was the first to empower the backward and weaker sections of society. We engage in politics with ethics and integrity,” he asserted.
He reiterated that curbing corruption in the nation could be achieved by abolishing high-value currency notes, advocating for the adoption of digital currency.
The Chief Minister expressed pride in the governance provided by the TDP and acknowledged his duty to fulfill all electoral promises. He pledged to implement the 'Super Six' initiatives.
Naidu also announced that from August 15, women will have access to free transportation on APSRTC buses.
He revealed that farmers would receive financial assistance under the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme in three installments each year, amounting to Rs 20,000 for each beneficiary annually, inclusive of Rs 6,000 from the Centre.
