Hyderabad Police Refute Claims of Misconduct Involving Allu Arjun During His Arrest

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (NationPress) The Hyderabad Police have refuted claims that their officers behaved improperly with actor Allu Arjun during his arrest on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) Akshansh Yadav released a statement clarifying that there was no misconduct involving the actor.
"Upon arriving at his residence, he asked for a moment to change his clothes. He went into his bedroom while the police waited outside, and when he emerged, he was taken into custody. There was no force used or any misbehavior from the police officers," the DCP stated.
The police emphasized that Allu Arjun had ample opportunity to say goodbye to his family and wife and voluntarily exited to enter the police vehicle.
Allu Arjun was detained due to an incident linked to the death of a woman during a stampede at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, which occurred during the premiere of his film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.
In response to a letter from the theatre management requesting police security that circulated on social media post his arrest, the DCP clarified that the organizers did not meet with any police officials but merely submitted a letter.
“We receive numerous requests for ‘bandobust’ for visits by political figures, film stars, and religious events. However, it is not feasible to provide security for every occasion. In cases where significant crowds are anticipated, organizers typically meet with police officers to discuss arrangements. In this instance, the organizer only submitted a letter without any follow-up, yet we still managed an appropriate 'bandobust' for crowd control outside the theatre,” the DCP's statement explained.
The police noted that the crowd remained manageable until the actor's arrival.
“When he arrived at the theatre, he exited through the sunroof of his vehicle and waved to the assembled crowd. This action drew many people to the main gate of the theatre, while his private security team began to push the crowd aside to allow for the vehicle's passage.
"His team was advised to return him due to the large gathering, but they did not respond appropriately, and Mr. Allu Arjun spent over two hours inside the theatre. Consequently, it’s evident that sufficient police 'bandobust' was in effect; it was the actor's actions that contributed to this tragic incident, which resulted in a woman's death, and her son remains unconscious on a ventilator even nine days later," the DCP concluded.
