Hyderabad Police Threaten Legal Action Against Misleading Social Media Content on Theatre Stampede

Hyderabad, Dec 25 (NationPress) The Hyderabad Police issued a warning on Wednesday regarding strict penalties for those sharing inaccurate information or videos on social media concerning the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident.
This warning followed the posting of misleading videos suggesting that the stampede occurred prior to Allu Arjun's arrival at the theatre for the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.
The police clarified that they have already made the findings from their investigation public through a video.
“It has come to our attention that some individuals have intentionally shared videos on social media aiming to mislead the public by implying that the stampede happened before Allu Arjun arrived. We will pursue legal action against anyone who intentionally spreads such falsehoods while the investigation is ongoing,” the police stated.
“We take any false propaganda that undermines the police department very seriously. Our department is diligently investigating this case, which led to the tragic death of an innocent woman and left a child severely injured. We will not stand for anyone disseminating false narratives and fabrications on social media to challenge our efforts,” they added.
The city police also encouraged any citizens with evidence or additional insights regarding the incident to come forward. They urged people to refrain from making independent comments.
The police urged the public not to trust misleading information shared on social media.
A number of videos related to the December 4 incident, which resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to her son, have circulated on social platforms.
On Tuesday, the police interrogated Allu Arjun for approximately three and a half hours in relation to the incident.
This questioning was based on a 10-minute video produced by the police to clarify the events that occurred on December 4.
Previously, the police had released a video on Sunday, compiled after reviewing 1,000 video clips to counter Allu Arjun's claims.
The 'Pushpa' star, identified as accused number 11 by the police, was detained on December 13. His statement was recorded at the Chikkadpally Police Station and subsequently presented in a city court, which ordered him to judicial custody for 14 days. However, he was granted interim bail for four weeks by the Telangana High Court on the same day.
The actor was released from Chanchalguda Jail the following day.
