Johannesburg, Nov 23 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with his Dutch counterpart Dick Schoof during the G20 Leaders Summit in Johannesburg, highlighting the rapid expansion of the bilateral relationship between India and the Netherlands, particularly in sectors such as energy, technology, innovation, and water resources.

Dick Schoof noted that the Netherlands and India collaborate closely in trade, security, and innovation.
"The Netherlands is the fourth largest investor in India globally. It was a pleasure to meet with Narendra Modi in South Africa at the G20 summit. We talked about expanding mutual investments through the Strategic Partnership and my upcoming involvement in the India-AI Impact Summit in New Delhi next year. Our nations will continue to collaborate closely in the long term, as it’s crucial to support one another in this rapidly evolving world," Schoof shared on X.
Earlier, PM Modi participated in the third session of the G20 Summit titled "A Fair and Just Future for All - Critical Minerals; Decent Work; Artificial Intelligence." He advocated for a transformative approach to promoting critical technologies.
PM Modi asserted that technology applications should be human-centric instead of finance-centric, global rather than national, and should be based on open source instead of exclusive models.
He expressed hope that the G20 will develop a global framework for talent mobility in the coming years.
In his remarks, he stated, "In this age of AI, we must swiftly transition our focus from 'Jobs of Today' to 'Capabilities of Tomorrow'. Unlocking talent mobility is essential for rapid innovation. We made headway on this topic at the Delhi G20, and I hope that in the next few years, the G20 can establish a global framework for talent mobility."
PM Modi also met with his Jamaican counterpart, Andrew Holness, discussing the strengthening partnership between the two countries. He remarked on X, "I engaged with Mr. Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, during the G20 Summit in Johannesburg. India and Jamaica share a friendship rooted in history and enriched by cultural ties. Our partnership is continually evolving with a commitment to collective progress."
Additionally, PM Modi held discussions with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the G20 Leaders Summit, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas such as commerce, culture, investment, technology, skilling, AI, critical minerals, and more.
Following their talks, PM Modi took to X to express, "I had a fruitful meeting with President Cyril Ramaphosa during the G20 Summit in Johannesburg. We reviewed the full spectrum of the India-South Africa partnership, particularly in enhancing connections in commerce, culture, investment, and diversifying cooperation in technology, skilling, AI, critical minerals, and beyond. I congratulated President Ramaphosa on South Africa's successful G20 Presidency."
External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar, MEA Secretary (Economic Relations) Sudhakar Dalela, and other officials were also present during the meeting.
PM Modi participated in the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Leaders' Meeting in Johannesburg, emphasizing the need for close collaboration among India, South Africa, and Brazil to combat terrorism. He asserted that double standards have no place in the fight against terrorism and proposed establishing the IBSA National Security Advisor (NSA) level meeting.
