New Delhi, Oct 23 (NationPress) In a tribute to the valor, discipline, and patriotism of our soldiers, the Indian Army’s Gajraj Corps is set to host the 'Saddle Borne Warriors' motorcycle rally from October 26 to November 1.
Defence officials stated, “This rally is a homage to the bravery, discipline, and patriotism exhibited by Indian soldiers.”
The initiative seeks to honor the memories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while inspiring the youth with a strong sense of duty and national pride.
This event marks the 50th anniversary of the heroic sacrifice of four soldiers from 5 Assam Rifles, who lost their lives on October 20, 1975, at the Tulung La border pass in Arunachal Pradesh while defending the nation.
“Their unwavering commitment and indomitable bravery continue to inspire generations,” remarked PRO Defence.
The rally will begin at Missamari Cantonment in Assam and will journey through Bhalukpong, Tenga, Bomdila, Sela, Jaswantgarh, Mago, Tulung La, Damteng, Tawang, and Jung, finally returning to Missamari.
“Along the way, participants will pay their respects at various war memorials, honoring the courage and sacrifice of India’s fallen heroes,” the official added.
This rally not only aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of West Kameng but also fosters unity, courage, and teamwork among participants.
Moreover, it seeks to promote road safety and advocate for responsible driving.
This initiative by the Gajraj Corps embodies the Indian Army’s motto — “Seva Parmo Dharma (Service is the highest duty)” — serving as a beacon of inspiration for all.
Additionally, as part of the Fit India initiative, the Indian Army successfully coordinated a 20 km joint cycling rally with ITBP at Aalo, West Siang in Arunachal on October 21 of this year.
According to PRO Defence, this event underscored the synergy, interoperability, and operational camaraderie between the two forces while promoting fitness and endurance among service personnel.
Army and ITBP officers, along with Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and other ranks, participated in this challenging 20 km route together.
