New Delhi, Oct 26 (NationPress) In a tribute to the bravery, discipline, and patriotism of our soldiers, the Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army officially launched the 'Saddle Borne Warriors' motorcycle rally in Missamari, Assam, on Sunday. This event was inaugurated by Lt Gen Gambhir Singh, the General Officer Commanding of the Gajraj Corps, alongside esteemed veterans of the Indian Army.

This remarkable expedition includes over 55 riders, featuring active soldiers, veterans, and women motorcyclists, who will cover a distance exceeding 900 km over seven days, navigating the rugged and pristine landscapes of the Eastern Himalayas.

The rally commemorates the revitalization of the historic Chhetri Memorial at Tulung La, honoring the bravery and ultimate sacrifice of four heroic soldiers from the 5 Assam Rifles, who fell in 1975.

This venture serves as a robust representation of the Indian Armed Forces’ relentless spirit of courage, endurance, and unity, emphasizing the enduring connection between current personnel and veterans.

As they traverse the stunning terrains of Arunachal Pradesh, participants embody the essence of adventure, patriotism, and resilience that characterizes the members of the Indian Army.

The rally commenced from Missamari Cantonment in Assam and will journey through Bhalukpong, Tenga, Bomdila, Sela, Jaswantgarh, Mago, Tulung La, Damteng, Tawang, and Jung before returning to Missamari.

“Their indomitable bravery and steadfast commitment continue to inspire generations today,” remarked the PRO Defence.

“At each stage of the journey, participants will pay tribute at various war memorials along the route, honoring the courage and sacrifices of India’s fallen heroes,” he added.

This rally also aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of West Kameng, while fostering courage, unity, and teamwork among all participants.

Moreover, it seeks to promote road safety and responsible driving practices.

In a related initiative, the Indian Army, in collaboration with ITBP, organized a successful 20 km joint cycling rally on October 21 at Aalo, West Siang in Arunachal Pradesh.

According to the PRO Defence, this event showcased the synergy, interoperability, and operational camaraderie between the two forces while advocating for physical fitness and endurance among service personnel.
