Beirut, March 1 (NationPress) As tensions persist in the Middle Eastern region, the Indian Embassy in Lebanon has issued a warning to all Indian citizens to refrain from unnecessary travel, stay alert, and adhere to local safety and emergency protocols.

The embassy urged Indian nationals currently residing in Lebanon to reach out via its mobile number or email if they face any emergency situation.

In an advisory released on Sunday, the Indian Embassy stated: "Given the current circumstances in the region, all Indian citizens in Lebanon are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, remain watchful, and comply with local safety and emergency recommendations."

India expressed serious concern over the recent developments in Iran and the Gulf region, urging all parties involved to practice restraint, prevent escalation, and prioritize civilian safety.

"India is deeply troubled by the recent events in Iran and the Gulf area. We call on all sides to exercise restraint, avoid escalation, and prioritize civilian safety. Dialogue and diplomacy should be pursued to ease tensions and address the underlying issues. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations must be respected," stated a release from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

MEP spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal added, "Our missions in the region are communicating with Indian nationals and have issued suitable advisories urging them to stay alert, maintain contact with the missions, and follow local security guidelines."

On Saturday, the Indian Embassy in Tehran advised all Indian nationals in Iran to exercise extreme caution, minimize movement, and stay indoors as much as possible due to the evolving situation.

"Indians should continue to follow the news, stay aware of their surroundings, and expect further guidance from the Indian Embassy," it mentioned while providing emergency contacts.

The Indian Embassy in Doha also released an "important advisory," instructing all Indian nationals in Qatar to take necessary precautions and stay informed about news and advisories from the Embassy and local authorities.

"Given the current regional context, all Indian nationals in Qatar are advised to exercise caution, follow news updates, and adhere to advisories from the Embassy and local authorities. Our Embassy is operating normally," the advisory stated.

"Everyone is requested to heed emergency alerts from local authorities, which urge the public to maintain distance from military sites and remain indoors, whether at home or elsewhere, only venturing out if absolutely necessary to minimize risks," it added.

Furthermore, the Indian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued an urgent advisory regarding the ongoing regional situation, advising all Indian nationals in the UAE to refrain from unnecessary travel, exercise caution, maintain vigilance, and follow safety guidelines and advisories issued by UAE authorities and the Embassy.

"The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai are functioning normally and will provide updates as necessary," it noted, encouraging Indian nationals in the UAE to reach out via toll-free and WhatsApp numbers in emergencies.
