Tehran, March 16 (NationPress) The Indian government has reiterated its warning to nationals in Iran, advising them against attempting to cross any land borders without prior and explicit coordination with the Embassy located in Tehran.

In a recent advisory issued on Monday, the Indian Embassy in Tehran stated, "In continuation of our advisory dated March 9, all Indian citizens currently in Iran are strongly urged not to approach or attempt to cross any land borders of Iran for onward travel without prior coordination with the Embassy of India, Tehran."

The Embassy emphasized that it maintains regular communication with the Indian community and is making coordinated arrangements wherever necessary.

"Uncoordinated movements towards land borders are strongly discouraged," it noted.

Indian nationals attempting to leave Iran through land borders without the Embassy's knowledge and guidance may "encounter significant logistical and immigration challenges," the advisory warned.

"Please be advised that the Embassy will not be able to provide assistance once individuals cross outside Iranian territory without prior coordination," the advisory further stated.

All Indian nationals in Iran are therefore encouraged to strictly adhere to Embassy advisories and maintain contact with official channels prior to undertaking any travel plans.

Meanwhile, the initial group of 70 Indian students evacuated from Iran via Armenia has safely arrived in Delhi, as announced by the J&K Students Association (JKSA) on Sunday.

Nasir Khuehami, national convenor of JKSA, reported: "The first group of over 70 Indian students, primarily from Jammu and Kashmir, along with several pilgrims who were stranded in Iran amid the escalating conflict in the region, has safely returned to Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, on a commercial flight this morning, marking the initial phase of the evacuation process."

"The students returned to India via a connecting journey through Armenia and Dubai after a challenging land and air transit coordinated with relevant authorities."

These students traveled from various cities in Iran by bus, crossed into Armenia, and from there boarded a Flydubai flight from Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan to Dubai. They then took another connecting Flydubai flight that landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport around 9:45 a.m. on Sunday.

The majority of the returning students had been enrolled in various universities across Iran, including Urmia University of Medical Sciences and Tehran University of Medical Sciences, among others. Many had previously been relocated to safer areas by the Indian Embassy in Tehran due to the worsening security conditions.

The Association expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Tehran for facilitating the safe evacuation and ensuring the students' return to India during this challenging period. This development has provided significant relief to students and families in Kashmir who had been deeply concerned about their children's safety in the conflict-affected area.
