New Delhi, June 14 (NationPress) In light of the rising tensions in the region, the Indian Embassy in Israel has issued a new safety advisory for Indian citizens living in the area as the Iran-Israel conflict intensifies.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the official account @indemtel declared: "Given the current situation, all Indian nationals in Israel are urged to remain alert and adhere to the safety guidelines provided by the Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command."

The advisory further recommended that Indian citizens exercise extreme caution, avoid any non-essential travel within the country, and remain close to designated safety shelters.

"We are actively monitoring the evolving situation and the safety of our nationals. In case of an emergency, please reach out to the Embassy’s 24/7 hotline: +972 54-7520711, +972 54-3278392, or email: cons1.telaviv@mea.gov.in," it added.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu communicated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, updating him on the "evolving situation" following the initiation of a military operation by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) targeting Iran.

"I received a call from PM Netanyahu. He briefed me on the evolving situation, and I expressed India's concerns, emphasizing the need for an early restoration of peace and stability in the region," PM Modi shared on X after the call.

Netanyahu's office indicated that he has engaged with various world leaders, including PM Modi, post the commencement of 'Operation Rising Lion', aimed at neutralizing the "Iranian threat of annihilation".

According to a statement from the Prime Minister's office in Israel, "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has spoken with several world leaders, including the Chancellor of Germany, the Indian Prime Minister, and the French President. He is also scheduled to speak with the US President, Russian President, and the British Prime Minister."

"These leaders recognized Israel's defense requirements amid the imminent Iranian threat of annihilation; the Prime Minister assured that he would maintain contact with them in the upcoming days," the statement continued.

On Friday, Netanyahu formally declared the launch of 'Operation Rising Lion', a military initiative designed to dismantle Iran’s nuclear threat to Israel's security.

Further escalating tensions, nearly 100 missiles were launched from Iran towards central and northern Israel in two major barrages early Saturday. The Israeli military and national emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that the attacks caused significant damage and injuries to at least 41 individuals.

The MDA confirmed that two people were critically injured, two sustained moderate injuries, and four experienced light to moderate injuries. The remaining individuals suffered minor injuries or trauma-related symptoms, including panic attacks.

Iranian state television later verified that the missile strikes were part of a renewed offensive amid rising hostilities between the two nations.

The IDF acknowledged the attacks, stating, "another barrage has been launched towards Israel," although the quantity of missiles and specific target areas were not immediately made public.
