Tehran, March 9 (NationPress) The Indian Embassy in Tehran issued a warning on Monday to its citizens in Iran, urging them not to approach any land borders for travel outside the nation without prior coordination with the Embassy.

The Embassy emphasized that it would be unable to assist Indian nationals once they have left Iran and face difficulties entering another country.

In an advisory shared on X, the Indian Embassy stated, "Indian nationals are hereby urged not to approach any land borders of Iran for travel outside the country without prior coordination with the Embassy. Any movement towards land border points should only occur after receiving explicit guidance from the Embassy."

"It is important to note that the Embassy will not be able to extend assistance once individuals have exited Iranian territory and cannot enter the third country concerned," it continued.

The Embassy also mentioned that Indian nationals can reach out through emergency contact helplines or email.

This advisory arises amidst the continuing conflict in West Asia, which escalated following the joint US-Israel strikes on Iran on February 28, prompting Iran to launch drone and missile attacks targeting US assets, regional capitals, and allied forces.

On Sunday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei addressed criticisms surrounding Iran's attacks on US military bases, labeling their actions as defensive. He stated that missiles are being launched at Iran from neighboring nations.

"To those who choose to ignore the justifications behind our defensive strikes against US military bases in the region: Missiles originate from the territories of neighboring countries, specifically near residential neighborhoods, while US fighter jets utilize the airspace of these nations to attack Iran, jeopardizing regional security," Baqaei posted on X.

Several nations in West Asia have condemned Iran for its assaults, viewing them as an escalation and a threat to regional security.

On Monday, Saudi Arabia denounced the Iranian attacks against itself and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members, asserting its right to take any necessary measures to protect its security, sovereignty, and public safety. The Saudi Foreign Ministry noted that ongoing Iranian attacks represent a serious escalation, with substantial repercussions for diplomatic relations.

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry stated that targeting civilian objects, airports, and oil facilities illustrates a determination to threaten stability and continues to violate international laws.

With respect to the Iranian President's recent statements about refraining from attacking neighboring countries, the Kingdom asserts that Iran's actions contradict this claim, as attacks continue based on unfounded allegations, including false claims that Saudi aircraft were involved in warfare. The Kingdom clarified that such aircraft are solely conducting air patrols to safeguard Saudi and GCC airspace from Iranian threats," read a statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry on X.

"The Kingdom reiterates that the ongoing Iranian attacks signify further escalation, with serious implications for bilateral relations both now and in the future. Iran's current approach toward our nations lacks wisdom and does not serve the purpose of preventing further escalation, in which Iran would ultimately be the greatest loser," it concluded.
