New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) More than 100,000 people have signed up for India's chip design training initiatives, with approximately 67,000 individuals already having completed their training, according to a government announcement on Saturday.

This initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is designed to empower India to achieve self-sufficiency in chip design—an essential industry for contemporary electronics, renewable energy, defense, and innovative technologies.

The government stated, “Over 100,000 individuals have enrolled in chip design training, with around 67,000 trained to date.”

The Chips to Start-up (C2S) Programme, introduced in 2022 with a total budget of Rs 250 crore, is at the heart of this initiative.
