Are Poor, SCs, STs, and Backward Classes Facing Injustice Under Congress?

Belagavi, Feb 12 (NationPress) The President of BJP's Karnataka unit, B. Y. Vijayendra, claimed on Thursday that the Congress-led administration in Karnataka has utterly disregarded the needs of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
Conversations are underway among the impoverished, farmers, and various backward classes, including Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, expressing feelings of being misled by the Congress and suffering from injustices, he asserted.
In a media briefing, he noted that the Congress-led government has been in power for approximately three years. During this period, due to its operational methods and lack of efficiency, it has “failed” to execute even one significant development project, he criticized.
Rather than genuinely supporting minorities, the government is engaging in appeasement politics under the guise of AHINDA, according to the BJP leader.
He highlighted a recent government order providing a complete 100 percent interest waiver under a one-time settlement scheme for minority beneficiaries through the Minorities Development Corporation. These beneficiaries are only required to repay the principal amount of their loans, he explained. “If that is the case, what injustice have other communities committed?” he posed.
He questioned why the Chief Minister and the government are disregarding Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes.
If the government is willing to go to extensive lengths for minority appeasement, it is, in effect, committing serious injustices to other communities, he alleged.
Vijayendra pointed to a newspaper article stating that 1.41 lakh disadvantaged students from Backward Classes are being denied hostel admissions, a fact even acknowledged by the relevant minister.
Communities that had placed significant trust in the Chief Minister, who ascended to power in the name of AHINDA, are now observing how justice is being served, he remarked.
Criticizing the government for the increasing unemployment rate in the state, he stated, “If the government genuinely cared for educated unemployed youth, 2.75 lakh positions would not remain unfilled in the state.”
