Actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani has launched his Independence Day anthem 'Tere Rang Mein' through his musical label Jjust Music, celebrating India's diversity, culture, and the courage of its defence forces. The patriotic track, unveiled ahead of 15 August, aims to capture the emotional thread that binds the country's people across religions and backgrounds.

What the Song Celebrates

Speaking about the release, Bhagnani described the anthem as a heartfelt tribute to the nation. 'I am a proud Indian, and all we've tried to show through Jjust Music in Tere Rang Mein is how diverse and colourful our country is, with people from all religions and backgrounds living together,' he said.

'The song is a tribute to the nation as it celebrates people and our rich culture as well as the defense forces. This Independence Day, I hope that Tere Rang Mein becomes one of the reasons of joy,' Bhagnani added.

The Vision Behind Jjust Music

Under the Jjust Music banner, Bhagnani has steadily built a catalogue of patriotic and mainstream releases. 'Tere Rang Mein' represents the label's most prominent Independence Day offering to date, positioning itself alongside a wave of annual patriotic anthems that have become a fixture of mid-August pop culture in India. Notably, the track leans into visual storytelling of unity — featuring people from varied communities — rather than a conventional military-only framing.

Bhagnani Opens Up on Personal Struggles

Separately, Bhagnani recently drew attention after speaking candidly about body image challenges during an appearance on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi's chat show 'Double Date', alongside his wife Rakul Preet Singh. He revealed that he once weighed close to 150 kilos and recalled facing insensitive remarks during his formative years.

Recounting one incident, he said: 'I still remember there was a film made on Akshay Sir, Khiladio Ka Khiladi, that time, there was a chatter amongst producers that they are calling WWF wrestler Yokozuna, how he is being brought to India for Bollywood. It was a huge buzz then. During one such conversation, a little overweight uncle told my father, "Why do you need to call Yokozuna from outside? You already have one at home."'

He added: 'When you are growing up you are also part of all jokes. If you are overweight or dark-skinned in this country, people don't think twice before bullying you.'

With 'Tere Rang Mein' now live, Bhagnani and Jjust Music are expected to push the track through digital platforms in the run-up to Independence Day 2025. The release adds to a growing trend of Bollywood producers investing in patriotic music IP as a standalone commercial and brand-building exercise.
