Jammu, Dec 20 (NationPress) On Saturday, the Jammu and Kashmir government announced the successful completion of an audit concerning all its departmental websites, leading to the decommissioning of 35 portals deemed redundant. Piyush Singla, the Secretary of the IT Department, revealed that both Endpoint Detection and Response and Unified Endpoint Management solutions have been implemented throughout the Civil Secretariat complexes located in Jammu and Srinagar, effectively securing around 5,100 devices. Additionally, plans are in place to incorporate another 15,000 devices in departmental offices into this security framework by January 2026.
Singla noted that 28 departments have initiated a census of their IT assets by nominating users, while 14 departments have been instructed to accelerate this process to ensure comprehensive asset mapping.
The adoption of official government email addresses has also surged, reaching a user base of 1.81 lakh, with approximately 35,000 new users since May.
