Jammu, March 11 (NationPress) In an effort to enhance skill development and foster self-employment among educated yet unemployed youth, the Employment Department of Jammu and Kashmir has launched a three-month training program for Solar Technicians in partnership with ITI Rajouri.
This initiative aims to equip local young people with essential technical expertise in the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector, potentially unlocking numerous job opportunities.
Throughout the training, participants will delve into the fundamentals of solar technology, covering the manufacturing process of solar panels, installation methodologies, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of solar systems.
The program combines both theoretical instruction and practical training, allowing trainees to achieve a comprehensive understanding alongside hands-on experience in the field.
Department officials noted that the solar energy industry is expanding swiftly across the nation, leading to an increased demand for skilled solar technicians.
By offering specialized training, the department seeks to prepare youth to seize opportunities in the renewable energy sector and encourage their journey towards self-reliance.
Upon completing the three-month course, participants will receive a certificate or diploma, which can aid them in securing employment in solar companies or even starting their own ventures in this field.
The course covers solar panel manufacturing, installation, and maintenance, along with practical training sessions.
Additionally, each trainee will receive Rs 3000 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to their bank accounts upon successful completion of the training.
According to Ujwal Mahajan, Principal of ITI Rajouri, "Once trained, individuals become a valuable skilled workforce, benefiting themselves and society alike. We are in an age where solar energy is paramount. Whether in communities or government sectors, the emphasis on solar power is undeniable. The government is also strongly advocating for solar energy."
The trained individuals will be connected with the Mission Yuva scheme, providing them access to financial support and loan options to establish their own solar-related enterprises.
This initiative is anticipated to empower youth by providing sustainable livelihood options while also promoting the adoption of clean and renewable energy in the region.
