Srinagar, Feb 7 (NationPress) To enhance the employment opportunities for the youth in Jammu and Kashmir, a coalition of security forces, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions has been established.

Taking on a role beyond just maintaining security in Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces are actively engaging in social and civic duties as the situation on the ground improves.

By collaborating with civil institutions, they are fostering skills development, encouraging self-sufficiency, and reinforcing the social structure of the region.

This initiative aims to address the gap between education and employability, creating a hopeful and productive path for local youth.

In line with this constructive effort, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) recently facilitated a month-long Skill Development and Computer Training Programme for students in Srinagar.

This complimentary training course was conducted by the 10th Battalion of SSB, in partnership with 'Saving The Future' (STF), a non-profit organization, and academic backing from the Kawa Group of Institutes in Khanyar, Srinagar.

The training targeted skills in Domestic Data Entry Operation and mobile repair, aiming to boost digital literacy, technical skills, and self-employment chances for local youth.

Fifty students, comprising both boys and girls, took part in this 31-day initiative, hosted at the International Institute of Professional Studies (IIPS) in Srinagar.

Participants showed great enthusiasm, many experiencing a professional computer lab for the first time, learning under skilled instructors.

This program provided practical, hands-on experience, preparing students to be job-ready and confident in launching their own businesses.

As the nation's future relies heavily on its youth, the focus is wisely shifting from degrees to skills.

These educational programs can empower individuals to achieve independence and establish mobile repair centers.

The initiative's goal is to improve employability, foster entrepreneurship, and support the Union government’s larger vision of enhancing the private sector to create sustainable job opportunities for educated youth in the Valley.

Upon finishing the course, participants are anticipated to start their own enterprises, become skilled professionals, and contribute positively to the local economy.

This program is part of the SSB's Civic Action Programme, showcasing a collaborative approach towards youth development in the Kashmir Valley.

Such initiatives are crucial for developing skilled workers, promoting self-reliance, and boosting confidence among the youth, paving the way for a brighter and more resilient Kashmir.

Other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) like the CRPF are also taking part in youth-specific initiatives.

For several years, the CRPF has been organizing national-level sports events for local youth, which not only hone their talents but also help to dismantle the emotional barriers that existed between the security forces and the community during the tumultuous times of terrorism.
