Jammu, March 25 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, urged stakeholders on Wednesday to join forces in creating an environment conducive to building a robust professional community.
The L-G emphasized the importance of collaboration and highlighted the need to establish a supportive atmosphere that promotes a strong professional community through networking, exchanging best practices, gaining national and international exposure, and implementing joint training initiatives.
“The challenges we face today are complex and multifaceted. Solutions can only be achieved through collective efforts, and we must focus on this to propel Jammu and Kashmir's rapid development,” stated the L-G.
He stressed that individuals from various sectors should unite to discuss, exchange experiences, and collaboratively seek solutions. Through cooperation and dialogue, a comprehensive and inclusive development model can be established for the Union Territory.
The L-G made these remarks during the inaugural event of the Indian Society for Training & Development's Jammu Chapter at Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College for Women in Gandhinagar, Jammu.
He congratulated the entire team of the Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD) on this new initiative. The L-G mentioned that the ISTD's Jammu Chapter would play a vital role in enhancing the learning and development ecosystem, positioning Jammu as a regional center for training and professional growth.
The L-G urged the ISTD's Jammu Chapter to concentrate on job creation and fostering entrepreneurship, enhancing the global competitiveness of local talent. “While the future poses challenges, it also presents abundant opportunities. We must be prepared to seize these new prospects,” he expressed.
He remarked that the primary purpose of education extends beyond merely imparting knowledge; it is about equipping students to face life's challenges and seize opportunities. He called for a focus on soft skills, research, entrepreneurship, and cultivating a startup culture. He added that the education sector must drive significant transformation through mentoring and collaboration between academia and industry.
The L-G encouraged ISTD members to particularly focus on training, research, and partnerships in industries, startups, and the agriculture sector of Jammu and Kashmir to enhance productivity and market connections.
He acknowledged that the entire industrial ecosystem is undergoing change, and in light of these shifts, Jammu and Kashmir's industrial landscape must continuously invest in new skills to boost productivity.
“It is imperative to train our farmers in modern technologies, scientific methods, and resource management to address climate change, water scarcity, and soil quality. Simultaneously, we must equip them to increase crop yields with fewer resources and market their products effectively,” the L-G stated.
The L-G highlighted that administration serves as the backbone of any nation, and today's citizens demand transparency, accountability, and efficiency. He stated that the administrative framework must evolve to become entirely citizen-centric.
“We must empower individuals and institutions to face emerging challenges head-on, ensuring that India’s aspiration to become the world’s leading nation is realized. Universities and institutions should collaborate with the ISTD to bring this vision to fruition,” he concluded.
The event saw a significant turnout, with senior officials, heads of educational institutions, and students in attendance.
