Jaipur, March 27 (NationPress) The uproar surrounding Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ramji Lal Suman’s comments about Mewar's King Rana Sanga has escalated, prompting outrage in Rajasthan. The Karni Sena has declared a reward of Rs 5.51 lakh for anyone who cuts off the MP’s tongue.
In Udaipur, the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena organized a demonstration against Suman. Arjun Singh Chundawat, the President of the Sena’s Udaipur division, announced a bounty of Rs 5.51 lakh for the act of chopping off the MP’s tongue.
Chundawat warned that if MP Suman fails to issue a public apology, the faces of Samajwadi Party leaders visiting Mewar would be blackened in protest.
Following this declaration, Karni Sena members rallied outside the Collectorate, chanting slogans against Suman and burning his effigy.
The protestors submitted a memorandum to the collector, addressed to the President of India, demanding the removal of MP Suman from office.
Meanwhile, another Rajput leader, Hanuwant Singh Boheda from Congress, called for political figures and citizens to have an accurate understanding of history.
He stressed that after Prithviraj Chauhan, Rana Sanga was the only monarch who unified India under one banner.
Boheda rejected Suman’s assertion, claiming that Rana Sanga never invited Babur to India. Instead, he advised political advisors to station 10,000 soldiers at crucial mountain passes between Afghanistan and India to thwart invasions.
He also highlighted that Rana Sanga sought the collaboration of other Indian kings to build a robust army.
Former Vallabhnagar MLA and BJP leader Randhir Singh Bhindar also criticized Suman’s comments, stating: “We take immense pride in being the descendants of Maharana Sanga. The sacrifices made by Sanga and his family for Hinduism are well-documented. We do not require a history lesson from those unaware of India’s past.”
The controversy ignited after SP Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman challenged the BJP’s narrative regarding Muslim DNA, questioning: “If Muslims have Babur's DNA, then whose DNA is in Hindus? Who brought Babur? Babur was brought to India by Rana Sanga to defeat Ibrahim Lodi.”
This statement has since provoked widespread indignation and political turmoil in Rajasthan.
