New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) In a shocking incident, members of the Karni Sena launched an attack on the home of Samajwadi Party (SP) MP, Ramji Lal Suman, in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday. This assault was triggered by Suman's remarks concerning Rana Sanga, prompting calls for an apology, which the SP leader firmly rejected in an interview with IANS.

Speaking to IANS just outside Parliament, Suman stated, "We had informed the Chairman about the situation and requested security for our family."

"The manner in which our residence was assaulted with a bulldozer yesterday, shattering windows, damaging furniture, and vandalizing vehicles, was evidently premeditated. Since March 22, individuals had been proclaiming their intentions to come to our home, and there was a blatant lack of oversight from the administration, allowing them to bring the bulldozer," he continued.

Suman also referred to comments made by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, who suggested that the attack was instigated due to the MP's Dalit identity.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, criticized Suman’s grasp of history.

In response, Suman declared, "I concur with Akhilesh Yadav's statement, and I remain steadfast in my remarks. I possess as much knowledge of history as Chief Minister Adityanath. There is absolutely no reason for me to apologize for stating that Babar was invited by Rana Sanga."

In recent weeks, discussions around medieval history have surged in India, particularly focusing on Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, his reign, and his burial.

Amid the Aurangzeb controversy, the role of Rajput ruler Rana Sanga has been scrutinized, with Suman labeling him a "traitor" during a parliamentary speech.

During his address on March 21, Suman remarked, "BJP leaders frequently assert that Muslims share the DNA of Babur, yet Indian Muslims do not regard Babur as their ideal."

"In fact, it was Rana Sanga who invited Babur to conquer Ibrahim Lodi. If you assert that Muslims are descendants of Babur, you must also recognize that you are descendants of Rana Sanga — a traitor. We criticize Babur, yet not Rana Sanga."

The SP chief clarified that the party does not question the valor of Rana Sanga.

Taking to X, Yadav further challenged CM Yogi Adityanath's authority, claiming that despite his presence in Agra, Karni Sena members vandalized the MP's home.

"When a violent assault on a PDA MP's residence cannot be contained even in the presence of the Chief Minister of a state, then 'zero tolerance' is destined to become zero," Yadav tweeted.

By PDA, Akhilesh Yadav referred to Pichhde (OBCs), Dalits, and Alpsankhyak, a term he frequently employs to describe his party's voter base.
