Jaipur, March 24 (NationPress) A significant uproar has emerged in the Rajasthan Assembly following a contentious statement made by Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ramji Lal Suman, who characterized the legendary Rajput warrior Rana Sanga as a “traitor”.

BJP MLAs strongly condemned Suman’s comment, labeling it an affront to the valor of Rajasthan’s warriors and called for decisive action against the SP MP.

BJP MLA Shrichand Kriplani demanded immediate repercussions for SP MP Ramji Lal Suman. In contrast, Congress MLA Harimohan Sharma argued that the issue should not be a subject of discussion in the House. This prompted fierce objections from BJP MLAs, who questioned the dismissal of a conversation about the alleged insult to a revered historical figure such as Rana Sanga.

During the heated exchange, BJP MLA Shrichand Kriplani specifically targeted the Congress party, claiming that their response suggested they were in favor of Ramji Lal Suman. He accused Congress of aligning with individuals who denigrate Rajasthan’s rich history.

“By supporting such statements, you have unveiled your true position. You are backing the Mughals,” Kriplani asserted.

Joining the criticism, the government’s Chief Whip, Jogeshwar Garg, also reproached the Congress Legislature Party, asserting that their viewpoint was in agreement with those who belittle Rana Sanga’s legacy.

Earlier, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma took to social media to vehemently denounce Ramji Lal Suman’s statement.

“The warriors of Rajasthan have consistently made immense sacrifices to safeguard our motherland. The disparaging remarks about the esteemed Mewar warrior Rana Sanga offend not only the eight crore residents of Rajasthan but the entire nation,” Sharma expressed.

He further asserted that Rana Sanga, who endured 80 wounds while battling against the Mughals, epitomized bravery.

“Labeling such a magnificent warrior as a traitor showcases the low mentality of the opposition. For the sake of vote-bank politics, they do not hesitate to insult our historical heroes. SP’s national president Akhilesh Yadav should promptly apologize to the nation and take action against his MP,” Sharma added.

In the Rajya Sabha, SP MP Ramji Lal Suman remarked that Rana Sanga invited Babur to vanquish Ibrahim Lodi.

“Muslims are the offspring of Babur, while you are the descendants of the traitor Rana Sanga. We criticize Babur, yet not Rana Sanga,” Suman had stated.

This statement has sparked widespread condemnation, further escalating political unrest in Rajasthan, with BJP leaders insisting on an apology and strict action against Suman.
